Healthy Fear: A Reiki Healing Experiment

There is healthy fear and unhealthy fear. Too many of us struggle to cope with the unhealthy sort. Healthy fear is the kind that gives you a surge of adrenaline when a wild animal attacks and helps you fight of flee. Unhealthy fear is a similar surge of emotion and adrenaline where it won’t do you any good because there is nothing to physically grapple with or run from. Fear won’t help me cope with finding a big gnarled spider dangling from the ceiling in the middle of the night. Fear won’t get me to an important appointment faster when I am stuck in traffic. Fear won’t help an downtrodden employee stand up to an abusive belittling boss. Fears like these sap one’s energy and in severe cases can make anything approaching a normal life impossible to have. All wounds deserve healing so I hope readers will treat even the minor gnat sized issues.

Ground, Shield, Invite your Guides & Allies to help and support

Using Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen, Sei Hei Ki, & Cho Ko Rei direct Reiki to both the source(s) of the fear as well as the fear itself. If emotions or memories surface allow yourself to feel those feelings without clinging so they will finally be fully discharged. If they become too intense ask your guides to reduce the rate or imagine a dial controlling the flow of emotion then turn it down until the rate is one you can deal with.

I also recommend treating the fear as soon as it arises. As someone with an anxiety disorder I know this is easier said than done. Do the best you can and send to both the fear and the source(s) of the fear as soon as you can.
